The ADI Scholarship Initiative
The ADI is driven to advance education and knowledge on dental implantology, both for the public and those in the dental industry. A crucial part of this is ensuring that the next generation of dental professionals are supported, providing enough security and stability to allow people from diverse backgrounds to engage and flourish within dentistry.
ADI Scholarship Opportunities
The ADI Scholarships Initiative was launched to initially encourage students and dentists of Black and Afro-Caribbean heritage, studying at any level at a UK university, to participate more in the implantology field. The scheme offers mentoring, financial assistance and access to the best knowledge and career advice in the industry. An assessment panel, comprised of educators, academics, representatives of organisations supporting black dentists and the ADI itself, convened to select the successful applicants.
“Receiving this award was truly a great honour and it is something that I am extremely proud of. The scholarship is forward thinking by giving this opportunity for black clinicians to excel in implantology. I believe this has the potential to generate a positive impact, one that fosters a diverse and skilled cohort of implant dentists.”Dr Toyin Aiyebusi, a general and cosmetic dentist at the Zero Seven Dental Practice
“Receiving an ADI Scholarship is a huge stepping stone, one that I can take to further my education in implant dentistry. Compared to the rest of dentistry, the world of implants feels a bit different; it is filled with plenty of new challenges but I now have greater confidence in exploring the sector further.”Dr Tanaka Kadiyo, a Masters student at University College London.
